On that fateful day I received news that would change the course of my life forever.  It was on that day that the nurse practitioner announced to my precious father and I that his creatinine levels were to a point in which he would have to begin dialysis immediately!  We looked at each other with utter disbelief.  After all we were  believing God for a supernatural miracle!  That very day that he began his treatment, I made up my mind that I would do everything in my power to help and assist my dad in anyway that I could.  It never came across my mind that after much testing, I would be a perfect blood match and would be eligible to give him a kidney.  And so that settled it for me!

If God would give me the courage and strength to step up to the plate, I would donate my kidney.  On steps of faith and love the transplant took place without any complications.  My dad asked me again, “Are you sure you want to do this?”  my response, “Absolutely!”  I want to thank all of the medical professionals, doctors, surgeon and workers for all of their support!  And I want to encourage each of you to consider becoming a organ donor.  Your decision could make the difference between life or death and certainly could give someone another chance at life.
